Q. What is the CPI program?

A. Through the Certified Professional Instructor (CPI) service, Certiport enhances existing training workshops and curriculum by ensuring consistent and accurate messaging, as well as the sustained and successful delivery of workshops. A global community of quality instructors is established across all programs through CPI membership. Focus is on training processes, delivery media, quality metrics, qualification requirements, communication methods, and standards.

Q. How do I apply for CPI membership?

  1. Obtain program certifications by specialty track as outlined in the CPI Requirements
  2. Submit online CPI membership application
  3. Submit background check information as required
  4. Submit proof of instructional or teaching experience to cpi@certiport.com
  5. Attend remote System Administrator training sessions covering the Portal, iQsystem and the CPS. To attend these remote sessions, go to Remote System Admin Session Registration. Select the Upcoming tab to view scheduled sessions. Additional session information is posted on the site and sessions typically last 2 hours
  6. Participate in a CPI Train-The-Trainer Workshop
  7. Submit payment as per email instructions upon application acceptance

Q. Who should apply for CPI membership?

A. CPI membership is for seasoned instructors and teachers interested in performing subcontracting work through Certiport.

Q. What are the benefits of becoming a CPI?

A. Not only does membership provide subcontracting opportunities, but it also provides opportunities for curriculum development and sponsorship to conferences. Membership also offers online access to instructional materials, and the ability to receive a finders fee for bringing new business to Certiport, and access to a global network of subject matter experts with whom to collaborate and discuss instructional needs.

Q. Should a CPI pursue an opportunity to sell a workshop or Certiport services?

A. YES, CPI members receive a finder's fee for bringing new business to Certiport within the United States. This finder's fee is a percentage of the engagement sold, in addition to the instructor rates paid for delivery of a workshop.

Q. What are the credential requirements for the CPI program?

A. Either of the following credentials will satisfy the instructional experience requirement for CPI membership:

Q. Do I ever have to renew my CPI membership?

A. Yes. After you have met the application requirements and received your CPI certificate, you have access to all CPI benefits for one year. An annual renewal membership fee will be required to join and annual renewal fees will be required to maintain your membership.

Q. Should a CPI provide additional courseware or materials to Certiport clients that are not part of the approved CPI courseware or materials?

A. No; as part of the quality process, always use Certiport approved teaching techniques, tools, curriculum and materials. New courseware or materials need to be submitted to Certiport for approval regarding adherence to the CPI standards.

Q. In pursuing a sales opportunity, should a CPI quote prices to a client even if they are estimated?

A. No; although Finders Fees are provided to CPIs, workshop and service pricing can only be provided to the client through the appropriate Sales Representative and/or GES Director at Certiport.
