Q: Why is this offering valuable to me?
A: Assessments and practice exams are part of Certiport’s Certification Pathway. On the Pathway, assessments are designed to provide diagnostics—they show you which skill areas are solid and others that may need improvement. Practice exams provide a simulation of the actual certification exam. Though none of the questions from the practice exam or assessment appear on the real exam, the format and material on both are designed to feel consistent with the certification exam.

These tools are not predictor as to how you will perform on an exam; rather they are key preparation tools on the pathway to certification.

Q: What are the major differences between the IC³ and Microsoft Office Specialist offerings?
A: For Microsoft Office Specialist, the promotion will carry DDC Test Prep for Microsoft Office Specialist. This offering features two modes: training and testing. The training mode provides questions with tutorials that cover the spectrum of skills requirements covered in the certification exam. The testing mode has a timed assessment with a random assortment of questions and diagnostic report at the end.

For IC³, the promotion features the Certiport IC³ Practice Test. This product does not feature tutoring or robust diagnostics; however, its content maps directly to the certification exams. IC³ Practice Test features practice exams for each of the three IC³ certification exams. A diagnostic score is provided at the end of an exam.

MICROSOFT OFFICE SPECIALIST (DDC TEST PREP)

Q: What does the DDC Test Prep software contain?
A: Geared to the Microsoft Office Specialist skills standards, this preparation tool can offer diagnostic and tutorials assistance as well. In the training mode, the program allows you to review and receive automated training for missed answers. Once all answers have been answered correctly, the program ends. This mode covers the spectrum of each exam’s skill requirements.

In the testing mode, the program provides a timed assessment and fewer questions than the other mode—designed to make it more similar to the exam environment. You are able to review exam questions following the test and can view a diagnostic score.

Q: Can DDC Test Prep be purchased from Certiport as a stand-alone product?

IC³ (CERTIPORT IC³ PRACTICE TEST)

Q: What does the Certiport IC³ Practice Test software contain?
A: This offering provides you with a simulated exam experience. Each is a non-timed exam that generates 45 systematically random questions and tasks. A pool of over 400 questions covers the full-range of objectives within each exam (Computing Fundamentals, Key Applications, and Living Online). An unofficial score sheet is available for print at the end of each exam to help evaluate strengths and weaknesses.

Q: Can the Certiport IC³ Practice Test be purchased on a stand-alone basis?
A: No. The product is available only as a bundled item.
