Certiport Launches 2016 Autodesk Certified User World Championship

Global Online Competition to Recognize Students who Excel in 2D and 3D Design

Salt Lake City, UT - 9 December, 2015

Certiport (www.certiport.com), a Pearson VUE business and leading test delivery solution provider for the global workforce and academic markets, today announces the launch of the 2016 Autodesk Certified User World Championship to recognize students with marketable 2D and 3D design skills. Qualified students will be invited to compete by completing an online design challenge in three project categories using Autodesk software: Architectural Design, Manufacturing Design, and Digital Storytelling. One champion in each category will win a trip to attend Autodesk University in 2016.

"Developing skills in next-generation tools used by professionals makes students attractive and hirable," said Randy Swearer, vice president of education at Autodesk. "An industry-recognized credential on a resume can open doors for young talent to continue their design careers and build the confidence to be both college- and career-ready."

The global online competition is open to students between the ages of 13 and 22 who submit a passing score on any of the following Autodesk Certified User (ACU) certification exams: Autodesk Certified User - AutoCAD, Autodesk Certified User – Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Certified User – Autodesk Revit Architecture, Autodesk Certified User – Autodesk 3ds Max, or Autodesk Certified User – Autodesk Maya. Autodesk Certified User certification confirms students have the 2D and 3D design skills necessary to continue their design careers—whether they attend college, enter the workforce or work toward additional levels of industry certification after graduation.

"We were impressed with the entries in the first ACU World Championship last year and expect a significant growth in participants the second time around," said Craig Bushman, vice president of marketing for Certiport. “The competition motivates more students to validate their Autodesk skills by earning certification, ultimately helping to prepare them for a successful career."
