Flipping Images

When you insert a piece of clip art into a Word document, you may want it to face the opposite direction. Word provides a simple way to change the orientation of any graphic.

  1. Make sure the graphic is selected, then ensure the "Drawing" toolbar is on by choosing View from the drop-down menu and clicking Toolbars » Drawing. If there is already a checkmark next to "Drawing", don't click it. It is already displayed with your other toolbars.
  2. In the Drawing toolbar, choose Draw » Rotate or Flip.
  3. You can choose to flip the image horizontally or vertically with the options called Flip Horizontal and Flip Vertical.
