Alphabetizing Lists

Any list of words can be easily alphabetized in Microsoft Word. Simply follow these directions:

  1. Select the list of words, then click Table » Sort.
  2. The default setting is ascending order. Clicking OK will rearrange your selected text in alphabetical order, starting with "A".
  3. If you wish to sort your list in reverse alphabetical order, simply select decending order before pressing OK.

Also remember that the sort function not only sorts alphabetically, but can also be used to sort numbered lists and dates. Simply select from Text, Number, and Date in the "Type" field.
