The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) and Certiport formed a strategic alliance designed to provide assessment tools for ISTE's widely adopted National Educational Technology Standards (NETS). The initial focus of the alliance led to Certiport IC³® being awarded the NETS seal of alignment.

The global digital literacy standard substantially prepares participants in the following manner:

NETS * T ALIGNMENT
MEETS: I.A, II.C.,V.C., V.D.
SUPPORTS SIGNIFICANT GROWTH FOR: I.B., IV.B., V.A., VI.A., VI.D.

NETS * S ALIGNMENT
MEETS: 1.A, 1.B, 2.C.,3.A, 4.A, 5.A
SUPPORTS SIGNIFICANT GROWTH FOR: 2.A, 2.B, 5.C

ISTE is a nonprofit professional organization dedicated to promoting appropriate uses of information technology to support and improve learning, teaching, and administration in K-12 education and teacher education. Home of the National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) Project and the National Center for Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers to Use Technology (NCPT3), ISTE also represents and informs its membership regarding educational issues of national scope through ISTE-DC.

Certiport is an ISTE 100 Member and was first awarded a seal of alignment with the ISTE NETS standard in June 2003.
