Certiport Partners with Business Professionals of America to Offer Members Opportunity to Compete in Worldwide Competition on Microsoft Office

Microsoft Office Specialist and Microsoft Technology Associate Certification Exams to be delivered at BPA National Leadership Conference

AMERICAN FORK – February 16, 2012

Certiport (www.certiport.com) the official test delivery solution provider for the global workforce and academic markets, today announced a partnership with the Business Professionals of America (BPA) to offer special Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) and Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certification testing at BPA's 2012 National Leadership Conference (NLC).

As a Certiport partner, Business Professionals of America also qualifies to send three students to compete in Certiport's 2012 Worldwide Competition on Microsoft Office in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 29 - August 1, 2012. Qualification will be based on the results of three distinct certification exams: Microsoft Word 2010, Excel 2010 and PowerPoint 2010.

"We look forward to working with the high caliber students involved in BPA, and I am especially excited to see some of them competing at Certiport's Worldwide Competition on Microsoft Office this summer," said Ray Kelly, CEO, Certiport. "Earning certification will boost their resumes and give them hands-on experience, and those who participate in the competition will have an unforgettable experience competing with the brightest and best students from around the world."

MOS and MTA certification will be easier and more affordable for BPA 2012 NLC attendees than ever before, since attending secondary and post-secondary students will pay a nominal fee per exam.

Certiport is the only official provider of the MOS certification program, a globally recognized, standards-based credential for validating Microsoft Office skills. It is the premier credential chosen by students who are seeking to achieve success in the classroom, build individual differentiation and credibility, and prepare for a workforce where the knowledge and skills provided by MOS certification are in high demand. Certiport is also the exclusive provider of the MTA exams, an entry-level certification that provides a basis for students to pursue a career in technology and validate a variety of basic IT and development technology knowledge.

"As the leading Career Technical Student Organization, BPA offers members as many value-added benefits as possible, and the opportunity to earn certification at our conference will be a great fit," said Amy Hollingsworth, Director of Strategic Initiatives, BPA. "As we work to create a skilled workforce, we believe certification validates real world skills and will give our members tangible proof that they know how to use key Microsoft applications."

Registration for the exams will open online February 24, 2012, and close April 1, 2012. The NLC will be held in Chicago, Illinois on April 25-29, 2012.
