La Salle College High School was profiled by Certiport and Microsoft Learning for La Salle's nationally recognized Microsoft IT Academy on Thursday, December 8, 2011.

A video production team from Salt Lake City arrived on campus to produce a 5-minute feature about the Microsoft IT Academy Courses at La Salle featuring interviews with Chief Information Officer Peter Sigmund '85, MCSE, MCITP, MCTS; Network Administrator Braden Bonner '07, MCP, MTA; and leaders from the Lab Manager Program Craig Burdulis '12, MCTS, MTA; Anthony Silvestri '13, MCTS, MTA; Samuel French '14, MTA; Jeremy Puntel '15, MTA.

La Salle offers Microsoft Certifications on campus as part of the Computer and Information Sciences Curriculum, as well as during our Summer IT Academy Program. La Salle certifies more students in Advanced MTA Certifications than any school in the world. Since 1999, over 120 students in the Lab Manager Program have received Microsoft Information Technology Certifications.

Many of the La Salle students who achieve certiciations through the Microsoft IT Academy are also members of the Lab Manager Program at La Salle.

The Lab Manager Program is a unique technology team at La Salle that gives students the chance to have hands on experience running a real network. These elite students work hand in hand with the Chief Information Officer, Mr. Sigmund and Mr. Bonner, to maintain, upgrade, and manage the network throughout the entire school. The members learn about computers by working with faculty and their laptops as well as with students in the labs throughout the school. It is this experiential learning that sparked Microsoft's interest in La Salle for this video.

The 5-minute feature video will be shared throughout the world by Microsoft and Certiport to show other schools how to successfully implement Microsoft's MTA (Microsoft Technical Associate) Certification Program at the high school level. The video will also be on the La Salle Web Site when it is completed.
