Macedonian citizens to acquire "Certiport" certificates
The world known Certiport certificate was promoted today in the Economic Chamber of Macedonia. It will be issued by the MASIT – The Economic Chamber of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).
We expect a large number of citizens to use this opportunity and take exams for getting a Certiport certificate through the ICT educational centers throughout Macedonia. In the same time, according to its Work Program, last year the Government proposed introduction of so-called European computer certificate ECDL for the needs of citizens, which is a kind of a driving license for using computers, said Ivo Ivanovski, Ministr of information society and administration before the promotion.
This literacy activities for citizens will continue, pointed out Ivanovski and reminded that in 2007 and 2008 over 22.000 citizens were trained in basic ICT knowledge.
According to estimations of the International Communication Community (IDC), by 2015 about 90 percent of all jobs will have been required a basic level of digital literacy.
The IDC in 2010 ranked Macedonia in the 55 place of ICT literacy.
