Certiport is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy statement explains policies on data collection and use practices of the Certiport.com site (the "Site") hosted by Certiport, Inc. This does not apply to other online or offline Certiport, Inc. sites, products, or services. Collecting your Personal Information
When you register, Certiport will request personal information including name, address, e-mail address, country, and telephone number. Certiport may also request other information such as educational background, sex, occupation, date of birth, or similar demographic information. This information is stored in your personal profile and is viewable by you on Certiport.com.
Transfer of Information to Test Sponsor
If the Certification Program is sponsored by a third party, this information will also be made available to the program sponsor. For further information about how the sponsor may use your personal information, please contact the sponsor.
Collection of Anonymous Information
The Site may collect certain anonymous information about your visit, such as the name of the Internet service provider and the Internet Protocol (IP) address through which you access the Internet; the date and time you access the Site; the pages that you access while at the Site, and the Internet address of the Web site from which you linked directly to the Site. This information is used to help improve the Site, analyze trends and administer the Site.
Safe Harbor
We follow the U.S. Commerce Department's Harbor personal information collected in the connection of delivery of certifications. We are also committed to meeting the decisions made by the European Community Data Protection Authority in collecting and handling of personal information.
Access and Control of your Personal Information
If you want to review or update your profile, simply visit Certiport.com and click on My Profile to edit your personal information. Here you will be able to:
- View and edit your personal information.
- Tell Certiport that you do not want to receive marketing information.
- Tell Certiport whether you want your personal information to be shared with its partners so that you may receive marketing information regarding its products and services by e-mail or postal mail.
- Take advantage of "MyCertiport" personal career builder services.
- Distinguish yourself by sharing your digital transcript with potential employers.
- Apply for Academic or Continuing Education Units.
- Receive personalized e-mail newsletters containing the latest news related to your certification and field.
- Attend local user appreciation events.
- Purchase and register Certiport products.
Use of Your Personal Information
Certiport will use this information to personalize your experience, make the Site easier to use and provide more effective customer service. Certiport may use your personal information to provide you with important information about the products and services you are using, including, but not limited to, critical updates and notifications, extend to you Web tools and services to access and use your exam results, provide customize remediation when available, and allow you to leverage your achievements with third parties. With your permission, Certiport may send you information about other Certiport products and services.
Storage and Processing
Personal information collected on the Site may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which Certiport or its affiliates, subsidiaries or agents maintain facilities, and by using the Site, you consent to any such transfer of information outside of your country.
Certiport is, by default, authorized to securely store your exam results, digital certificates and related information. This information will be used only for specific certification program purposes and for your personal benefit.
Third Party Disclosure
The personal information Certiport collects may be transmitted to trusted third-party service providers in order to inform you of products and services that Certiport offers, such as site hosting, packaging and postal services, customer service, and marketing initiatives. Certiport's partners are required to maintain the confidentiality of the information and are prohibited from using the information for any other purpose.
Certiport may disclose personal information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:
- Conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on Certiport or the Site.
- Protect and defend the rights or property of Certiport.

Certiport strictly protects the security of your personal information and honors your choices for its intended use. Inside the company, data is stored on password-controlled servers with limited access.
You also have a significant role in protecting your information. No unauthorized person can see or edit your personal information without knowing your My Certiport login (username and password), so do not share these with others.
By registering through Certiport, you give your consent for your personal information to be transmitted or used as outlined in this policy.
Children's Privacy
Certiport is committed to protecting the privacy needs of children. Certiport encourages parents and guardians to take an active role in their children's online activities and interests. Certiport does not solicit or knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.
Use of Cookies
Certiport.com uses non-persistent cookies in connection with the use of My Certiport. My Certiport authentication assigns a personal identification number and sends it to your computer in the form of a small text file, called a "cookie." The use of this cookie allows you to interact with various portions of Certiport.com. The cookie is valid only during your authenticated session on Certiport.com and is not stored on your computer after the authenticated session has ended.
Changes to This Privacy Statement
As the Site expands, improves, and updates Certiport's offerings and services, Certiport reserves the right to modify or amend the policy at any time and for any reason. When policy changes occur, Certiport will revise the "last updated" date at the top of the privacy statement.
