How students can participate:

While sitting for a MOS 2007 Word, Excel®, PowerPoint® exam or MOS 2010 Word or Excel® exam, students will be prompted to participate in the Worldwide Competition on Microsoft Office. Before the exam begins, a screen will appear with competition information and an opt-in checkbox (checked by default). If the student wishes, he/she can opt out of the competition by clearing the checkbox.

If the student passes the exam and has left the opt-in button checked, he or she will be entered into the competition.

At the end of the competition (June 15, 2011), Certiport will choose finalists based on the top exam scores and fastest exam times.

What's different from last year?

We're excited to include for the first time ever the PowerPoint® 2007 exam as well as the MOS 2010 Word or Excel® exams to this year's competition.

MOS 2003 Word or Excel® exams will NOT be included in this year's competition.

Students must be between the ages of 13 and 22 as of June 15, 2011.

Previous regional, country and Worldwide Champions can compete in this year's qualifying and final competition ONLY if they are competing in a different exam and exam version. For example, if a student placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in their region, country or at the Worldwide Finals in Microsoft Excel® 2003, they can participate this year in any exam EXCEPT Microsoft Excel® 2003.

Other details:

Dates for the first round of testing (unless other arrangements are made): The Qualifying Round ends June 15th, 2011.
